Welcome to the children's Religious Education Program

Our Religious Education program for children begins at 11:00 a.m. with the children joining their parents in the sanctuary. After the opening words, lighting of the Chalice and a children's story, which is enjoyed by all, the classes exit with their teachers to participate in their RE class.

The goal for our program is to have the children feel at home in the church community. We want our children to be able to comfortably articulate their personal beliefs as well as UU principles and values. We wish to help our children gain a positive feeling of identity as Unitarian Universalists. We provide cheerful, loving care and creative activities. The children are encouraged to play and work cooperatively, to make friends, to learn to express their feelings about themselves and others, to appreciate how we are alike but different, to view nature as a gift that needs our care and to celebrate Unitarian Universalist values as well as different religions and cultures of the world.

There is no fee for religious education.

"Our first end in religious education is not to stamp our minds on the young, but to stir up their own." -William Ellery Channing
